Responsibilities: SpaceBound is seeking a Project Manager who will plan, organize, and manage a portfolio of projects and serve as the liaison between business and technical aspects of assigned projects. The primary function is to manage the successful completion of internal within the software developer projects. The project manager is also actively involved in the development creation and gathering of requirements, sprint timeline commitments, project tracking, and delivery of completed projects. Projects can range from small enhancements, lasting a few weeks, to larger enhancements that run over the course of several months.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
Overall responsibility for managing scope and delivery of projects from inception to closure
Define, develop, and manage implementation schedules and project budgets
Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects
Coordinate resources, prepare project teams, control project scope, and mitigate risks
Proactively identify any project risks (including timeline slippage, quality issues, etc.) and create implement mitigate plans
Serve as scum master by removing impediments, working with product owner to prioritize backlog, and helping the team understand project scope
Analyzes and troubleshoots bugs and defects and partners with development resources to resolve them
Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders
Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports
Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments
Must be a great communicator who is willing to attend face-to-face meetings with non-technical departments heads
Leads weekly meetings with corporate officers to follow up on key deliverables
Other duties can and will be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: Assign duties for project staff and oversee day-to-day tasks needed to complete projects.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
3+ years of direct project management in an information technology field
Experience managing multiple parallel small or medium-sized projects to completion
Ability to elicit, analyze, document, and manage a project’s requirements
Ability to research and understand existing business processes
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Ability to lead working sessions and weekly meetings to execute project activities
Self-starter and self-motivated
Multi-task in a busy, fast-paced, and sometimes stressful environment
Highly effective organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor
Attention to detail
Strong written & oral communication skills to interface effectively with all team members, customers and partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
5+ years of technical project management experience
Ability to prepare and execute acceptance criteria/test scripts and manage resolution of issues
Experience applying different project management methodologies and best practices based on project need
Experience collaboratively developing and validating project requirements
Experience independently leading small and medium projects through the full project management life cycle
Recognized independently leading both small and medium projects through the full task management cycle
Recognized industry certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP)
Knowledge of agile, waterfall, and hybrid projects
Salary: Negotiable and commensurate with experience and Midwest region cost of living scale
